Rhodes Landing Styled Shoot (Florence / AL)

Everything above is what people need to know.
What happened
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience at the Rhodes Landing styled shoot. I appreciate the effort Kaitlyn put into putting everything together, but the overall experience felt very rushed and unorganized compared to what I expected from a styled shoot.
There were several photographers trying to photograph at the same time, which resulted in people practically on top of one another and made it difficult to have enough time and space to create. Some of the areas also had challenging lighting, and because everything moved so quickly, there wasn’t much opportunity to adjust, properly compose shots, or be creative.
I also had interactions with some of the participating vendors that I did not find particularly welcoming or professional, which unfortunately added to the overall experience. While I understand Kaitlyn cannot necessarily control every individual’s behavior, I do think the vendors involved in a styled shoot contribute to the environment and experience for everyone attending.
Kaitlyn was both coordinating the shoot and modeling, and I believe trying to manage both roles contributed to some of the organizational issues. This is nothing against her abilities as a model. For future styled shoots, I would strongly recommend having a separate person dedicated to planning, coordinating vendors, organizing photographers, and keeping everything on schedule so Kaitlyn can focus on modeling.
I appreciate the work and effort that went into putting the shoot together, but overall, it did not meet my expectations for a styled shoot, and unfortunately I left feeling disappointed with the experience.
Advice for the host
For future styled shoots, I would recommend having a dedicated coordinator so the host can focus on modeling rather than trying to manage both roles at once. I would also suggest creating a more structured schedule with smaller photographer groups or designated shooting times to prevent photographers from overcrowding each other.
It would also be helpful to scout the locations and lighting beforehand, allow enough time at each setup for photographers to properly create, and make sure all participating vendors understand the expectations for professionalism and working respectfully with attendees.
There was a lot of potential with this shoot, but better organization, communication, time management, and vendor coordination would have made the overall experience much more enjoyable and productive.
